This Weekend Near The Paragon: The Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade and River Dyeing
March 11, 2020Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and River Dyeing on March 14! The celebrations start at 9 a.m. with the river dyeing between Columbus and Wacker drives, but guests will want to get there much earlier to get a good spot; the river dyeing attracts thousands of spectators. This tradition dates back over half a century, and has built up quite a reputation. Watch the river turn emerald green and keep the incredible pigment for five straight hours.
Following the river dyeing is the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at noon! This year marks the 65th anniversary of the parade, named one of the largest St. Paddy’s Day parades in the country. The three-hour celebration will include several acts that impress every year. These acts include but are not limited to decorated floats, Irish dancers, marching bands, bagpipers, and so much more. The parade takes place between Balbo and Monroe drives.
